Which chaos?

Peace.

Everyday we hear about Syria, North Korea and ISIS. Closer to home in Nigeria, it’s Boko Haram and Fulani herdsmen. The chaos in the world in these end times can take away peace and introduce worry and distress. As believers, we have a comfort that no one else can boast of.

“I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid” John 14:27 (NLT)

Peace is something that eluded me at a point in my life and every single time it happened, I was always at a point when I walked away from the covering the Holy Spirit provided. A time when i was out of the refreshing Word of God and had turned my attention away from the study and meditation in the Bible.  I learnt then that peace is not an absence of trouble but is a direct result of keeping my mind focused on God.

“Peace is a direct result of keeping our minds focused on God”

Your circumstances, however good cannot produce peace in your life. It is staying in the promises of God and allowing it to work in your heart and life that produces the God kind of peace. You cannot find it outside of Jesus, you just can’t.

“Your promise revives me; it comforts me in all my troubles”. – Psalm 119:50 (NLT)

Prayer Confession: O God, help me to stay in your Word and the promises in it. This is the only way i can have a peace that passes all human understanding. I put all my hope in you Lord and refuse to look at all that is happening around me. In Jesus name.
