The kingdom of power

For the Kingdom of God is not just a lot of talk; it is living by God’s power.
1 Corinthians 4:20 NLT

As a child growing up, I recall reading some of my mum’s books by Kenneth Hagin and T.L. Osborn and being amazed at how much God could do in a life. Deep in my heart I wanted that but we attended an orthodox church where all we did was teach the Word and the manifestation of the gifts of the Spirit was non-existent. I knew even then that I wanted more!

A powerless church focuses people on the wisdom of the leader of the house and not on God. Paul talked about his preaching not being human wisdom but in demonstrations of the power of God.

And my speech and my preaching were not with persuasive words of human wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power, that your faith should not be in the wisdom of men but in the power of God.
I Corinthians 2:4‭-‬5 NKJV

Today, I am calling on you to be the change you want to see. Walk in the power that is available to you as a believer in the Holy Spirit. Study the Gospels and the Acts of the Apostles and see what God’s original intention for His kingdom was, not a people of eloquence and human wisdom but people of POWER that would leave no one in doubt that God is at work.

“For the kingdom of God is demonstrated not in idle talk but with power.”
