Speak the Word

September 6, 2017 by Yemisi Vese 1 Comment

“So I prophesied as I was commanded; and as I prophesied, there was a noise, and suddenly a rattling; and the bones came together, bone to bone. Indeed, as I looked, the sinews and the flesh came upon them, and the skin covered them over; but there was no breath in them. Also He said to me, “Prophesy to the breath, prophesy, son of man, and say to the breath, ‘Thus says the Lord GOD: “Come from the four winds, O breath, and breathe on these slain, that they may live.” ’ ” So I prophesied as He commanded me, and breath came into them, and they lived, and stood upon their feet, an exceedingly great army.” Ezekiel 37:7-10

Ezekiel went further to prophesy in obedience to the voice of God.

What has God been telling you to speak and pray His Word over? Why haven’t you done it? The Word of God is the will of God for us. His promises in the Word are for our lives and whenever we pray the word over our circumstances, our faith grows and we get our answers.

“Now this is the confidence that we have in Him, that if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions that we have asked of Him.” I John 5:14-15

The Hebrew word for “Breath” in this verse is ruach, which means “air in motion” and is used to refer to the Holy Spirit throughout the Old Testament. The same word was for Spirit of God even from Genesis 1. When we speak the Word of God over our circumstances, the Holy Spirit swings into action and there is a shaking and those dead circumstances come to life!

Are you activating the power of the Spirit over your life and circumstances? Or are you speaking death?

I challenge you today to only pray scripture over your circumstances for the next month and also pray in the Spirit to activate the work of God over your circumstances. Watch and see as the Spirit of God turns things around for your good.

Child of God, Prophesy!

September 4, 2017 by Yemisi Vese 2 Comments

“The hand of the LORD came upon me and brought me out in the Spirit of the LORD, and set me down in the midst of the valley; and it was full of bones. Then He caused me to pass by them all around, and behold, there were very many in the open valley; and indeed they were very dry. And He said to me, “Son of man, can these bones live?” So I answered, “O Lord GOD, You know.” Again He said to me, “Prophesy to these bones, and say to them, ‘O dry bones, hear the word of the LORD! Thus says the Lord GOD to these bones: “Surely I will cause breath to enter into you, and you shall live. I will put sinews on you and bring flesh upon you, cover you with skin and put breath in you; and you shall live. Then you shall know that I am the LORD.”’” Ezekiel 37:1-6

What are you saying over your circumstances? The Word of the Lord or your word of unbelief?

In the passage, Ezekiel left it to God by saying “O Lord GOD, You know.” That was not a statement of faith but a statement of unbelief! Don’t we all do the same today? Negative circumstances face us and we say things like “If God wills it”, “God is in control now” and we NEVER do anything about it except cry and wallow in self-pity! We think we are being godly when we talk like that but it is actually unbelief!

If you were absolutely convinced that when you decree, it will happen, I am certain you will not leave it to God! You will speak life to that circumstance and expect a turnaround without question. Could it be because of your unbelief that you are not speaking the Word?

My message to you today is this:

Begin to speak the Word of God from your lips.

Do not speak out the dead hopes and unbelief from your mouth any longer.

Speak the truth of God’s Word in power over your life!

Prophesy the goodness of God over the dryness of your life!

Follow your Maker’s guidelines

July 8, 2017 by Yemisi Vese 2 Comments

The manufacturer of any item usually includes a manual when it is purchased to guide regarding the use of the item. God, our Creator, gave us an instruction book to run our lives. No one is more qualified than Him to give us a comprehensive manual that covers every area of our lives and gives us the exact instructions on how to live our very best life.

Everything we would ever need is contained in our manual, the Bible. The only true living Word.

“For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.” Hebrews 4:12

The instructions we find in the Bible teach us the proper attitudes and beliefs, give us guidelines for detecting sin and wrong ways of thinking, and provide the discipline we need to stay on God’s path for us. The Bible is a book that never changes and every Word written in it is truth. God is not like man, His words are truth and foolproof.

“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind.

Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?” Numbers 23:19

God did not only provide His Word, He also provided help for us to understand what has been written.

“I am telling you these things now while I am still with you. But when the Father sends the Advocate as my representative—that is, the Holy Spirit—he will teach you everything and will remind you of everything I have told you.” John 14:25-26

In confusing situations, remember that the answer is in the word of God. Life can be lived with full confidence when we have learnt to follow the instructions. The challenges of life would come our way but God knew that ahead and provided a way out for us in His Word. Learn to study and digest the Word, it will help you through the difficult and confusing seasons of life.

“This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will have good success.” Joshua 1:8

Love like God

July 8, 2017 by Yemisi Vese Leave a Comment

Yesterday we talked about loving like Jesus who gave Himself up for us, His friends. In practical terms, how does this work? Let’s check what the Bible has to say about this:

“Love endures with patience and serenity, love is kind and thoughtful, and is not jealous or envious; love does not brag and is not proud or arrogant. It is not rude; it is not self-seeking, it is not provoked [nor overly sensitive and easily angered]; it does not take into account a wrong endured. It does not rejoice at injustice, but rejoices with the truth [when right and truth prevail]. Love bears all things [regardless of what comes], believes all things [looking for the best in each one], hopes all things [remaining steadfast during difficult times], endures all things [without weakening].”

1 CORINTHIANS 13:4-7 (AMP)

These verses tell us the following:

  1. Put other people’s interest ahead of your own. Don’t be selfish and think only of yourself. (This would really change our marriages; don’t you think?)
  2. Don’t throw your weight around and be proud. God resists the proud (1 Peter 5:5)
  3. Don’t always insist on your rights! Give up your right to anger and to be offended; you’ll be surprised how much easier your life would become. Less errors! (Ephesians 4:26)
  4. Stop taking notes of the evil or wrong done to you. Give it to God, vengeance is His anyway. (Romans 12:19)
  5. Look for the best in everyone. Don’t approach people with a veil.
  6. Show kindness to everyone. Whether they deserve it is not important. God shows you kindness everyday, be kind to others.

There is so much more but I would not be able to fully cover in this devotional. However, I encourage you to study the verses above and draw the applicable lessons from it. Also, remember that if it seems impossible to achieve alone, the Holy Spirit has been provided to help us with our weaknesses. Ask Him for help.

I would leave you with one last (surprising) verse:

“Christ’s love has moved me to such extremes. His love has the first and last word in everything we do” 2 Corinthians 5:14 (MSG)

Let the love of Christ in you move you to make His love the first and last word in all that you do.

Please feel free to reply my email with the love lessons you have been able to draw from the Bible verses I have shared with you today. I would love to hear from you and don’t forget to share with your friends.

God is always good

June 28, 2017 by Yemisi Vese 1 Comment

I remember a season of total dryness in my life. I was broke, depressed and spiritually empty. I thought God had abandoned me and there was no way He had me in mind. I allowed my circumstances dictate who God is. I was so wrong!

God is good regardless of whatever your circumstances are. His goodness does not fluctuate with your situations.

God is good to everyone.

And His tender mercies are over all His works.” Psalms 145:9

God is always ready to forgive

so full of unfailing love for all who ask for your help.” Psalms 86:5

God gives good gifts to His children

God is good and His love for you is unchanging

“For the LORD is good.

His unfailing love continues forever,

and his faithfulness continues to each generation.” Psalms 100:5

This list is by no means exhaustive. God’s goodness and love is limitless.

God’s goodness and love is limitless.

Understand this, God’s goodness does not change whether your testimonies have come or not. I have learnt to believe unequivocally in His goodness and this knowledge has changed my prayers and my relationship with God.

Never stop giving

June 26, 2017 by Yemisi Vese 2 Comments

“Dear friends, do you think you’ll get anywhere in this if you learn all the right words but never do anything? Does merely talking about faith indicate that a person really has it? For instance, you come upon an old friend dressed in rags and half-starved and say, “Good morning, friend! Be clothed in Christ! Be filled with the Holy Spirit!” and walk off without providing so much as a coat or a cup of soup—where does that get you? Isn’t it obvious that God-talk without God-acts is outrageous nonsense?” James 2:14-17

Our works must show that we are people of God. We must act like our God of love. Do you know an attribute of God that brings me to my knees every time? God never stops giving!

  1. He gave us Jesus to save us from sin. John 3:16
  2. He gave us the Holy Spirit to guide us and help us to live for Him.
  3. He has given us everything we need for life and for godly living. 2 Peter 1:3
  4. He supplies all our needs. Philippians 4:19

God wants our lives to be about giving.

  • Giving of what He has given to us.
  • Giving of our lives.
  • Give your time and share the gospel.

Never stop giving, that’s how people know who you belong to.

Comment below on how you can start giving today!

How we are meant to live

June 11, 2017 by Yemisi Vese Leave a Comment

“But without faith it  is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.”
Hebrews 11:6 NKJV

Faith is what we present to God to access His promises for us in the Kingdom. If you don’t believe, you cannot access anything.

For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”
Romans 1:17 NKJV

Every single believer used faith to get saved. We all had to believe that Jesus was the Son of God and that He died for you. It required faith to do that! We usually forget that it’s that same faith we require to access everything else in the kingdom; healing, the baptism of the Holy Spirit, etc.

The gospel of Jesus did not include only salvation, it included everything else; deliverance, healing.

Everything requires the same thing for access, Faith!

Step up today, by faith, and access all that the Saviour has planned for your life. Don’t doubt, He wants to give you so much more!!

Jesus said to him, “If you can believe, all things are possible to him who believes.”
Mark 9:23 NKJV

God bless you.

Ask big! You are not a slave.

June 6, 2017 by Yemisi Vese Leave a Comment

“Now Jabez was more honorable than his brothers, and his mother called his name Jabez, saying, “Because I bore him in pain.” And Jabez called on the God of Israel saying, “Oh, that You would bless me indeed, and enlarge my territory, that Your hand would be with me, and that You would keep me from evil, that I may not cause pain!” So God granted him what he requested.”
I Chronicles 4:9‭-‬10 NKJV

Jabez was born in pain and his name  signified that pain. Everytime someone called his name, his origin was reinforced as a source of pain and sorrow. I’m certain this must have marked him and affected everything he did. One day, he got fed up and asked God for a big change. Guess what? God granted him that request.

Imagine this scenario instead: Jabez asking God to make his pain more comfortable and people should go easy on him. Do you know that’s what he would have got? More comfort but the pain would still be there.

Most of us ask God for things like slaves and not sons! We ask God to ease our pain instead of daring to ask Him not just to remove the pain and sorrow but to enlarge us beyond human understanding and make us the one that eases the pain of others. We are just too afraid to ask God!

Ask God today for the seemingly impossible to do things for His glory

. Don’t be deterred by what people or the devil are saying. God wants us to place a demand on His unending power!

“I am the Lord your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it.”
Psalms 81:10 NKJV

God bless you.
