Made to love

Love is meant to be our default mode as children of God. Loving God and loving our fellow man is the mandate we have from heaven. Since we have received love, God expects us to measure out the same to our fellow humans. Our primary love relationship is with God though and secondly, other people.

“And we have this command from Him: The one who loves God must also love his brother.” 1 John 4:21

Our understanding of love has to come from the life, death and resurrection of Jesus. He loved God and He loved people.

You are made to worship and love God.

“He said to him, “Love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest and most important command.” Matthew 22:37-38

“The people I formed for Myself will declare my praise” Isaiah 43:21

You are made to love and serve others.

“I give you a new command: Love one another. Just as I have loved you, you must also love one another. By this all people will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” John 13:34-35

Don’t ever believe you cannot serve others because of your status in society, if Jesus did it then so can you. Love is our identifying factor as children of God.

Give yourself a challenge today and extend love to one person at the minimum! That is what makes you like your Father.
