Let there be light

“God spoke: “Light”And light appeared.” Genesis 1:3 (MSG)

The earth was dark and had no shape or form. God spoke and light came! Light responds to the Word of God. The power of the spoken word cannot be over-emphasised. The Bible records the word of God as light in several places
“The Word gave life to everything that was created,
and his life brought light to everyone. The light shines in the darkness,
and the darkness can never extinguish it.” John 1:4-5

“Your instructions are a doorway through which light shines. They give insight to the untrained” Psalm 119:130 NET

God’s Word is the light that illuminates our lives and drives out the darkness. As believers, we should speak the Word into the darkness of our lives. You may ask, what darkness could be in our lives as believers? Have you been feeling lost and not sure of the direction to go? Speak the Word! Are you experiencing downtime in your career or marriage? Speak the Word, bring the Light into that situation. Are you sick? Poor? depressed? Speak the light of God into that situation. When His Word shines light, it provides understanding to those who need it. To have understanding means you have the ability to discern right from wrong, that you are able to judge rightly. The Word of God is how we should see the situations in our lives and it helps us make the right decisions when it is hazy.
“The LORD is my light and my salvation—
so why should I be afraid?
The LORD is my fortress, protecting me from danger,
so why should I tremble?” Psalms 27:1
When you let the light of God shine into your life, fear would flee and joy would be your constant!
Prayer Confession: Father, from today I will speak your Word into all my dark and dire situations. I will not take a step until I have seen the Light of God in my situation through your Word. In Jesus name
